The most popular video streaming service in the world, YouTube, now receives over 30 million visitors every day. At least 300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute and nearly 5 billion videos are watched every single day.
Now that the world is addicted to the platform, YouTube leaders see an invaluable opportunity to control what people watch, learn, and think. This is accomplished by evaluating user experience and using algorithms to dictate video recommendations on YouTube’s front page. In the beginning, YouTube used video recommendations to “improve user experience.” Now they are using the algorithms to omit video recommendations that are considered “conspiracies.” YouTube will now use machine learning to hide content that is considered too dangerous for adults to come across.
According to a recent company blog post, YouTube announced they will be “reducing recommendations of borderline content and content that could misinform users in harmful ways.” Targeted topics that will be buried include videos exploring 9/11, the Kennedy assassination, “cover-ups” and “inside jobs.” They are also cracking down on content that promotes “a phony miracle cure for a serious illness.” Any testimony about a holistic cancer cure will be buried. Any video that dare publish the benefits of natural medicine will be kept hidden. Any cancer therapy that isn’t chemotherapy and radiation will be blacklisted. Any dissent to vaccination will be silenced. This censorship agenda against health freedom is already underway, with countless channels on natural health removed in the past year. (The Natural News YouTube channel was banned in March 2018.)
YouTube will now favor content creators who pander to the status quo and promote videos that follow along with the official story and pharmaceutical industry propaganda. Content creators who dare ask questions about important events, political ideas, or the dangers of vaccines will automatically be discriminated against, as their videos are hidden away from YouTube’s 30 million daily users.
In essence, YouTube leadership is discriminating against people based on the color of their ideas, while manipulating popular thought. During the 1950s, institutions discriminated against people based on the color of their skin, forcing African Americans to sit in the back of the bus. Today, powerful institutions that control internet content are destroying the livelihoods of people who have an important perspective or discovery to share. By shadow-banning, demonetizing, and backlogging their content, YouTube policy makers are discriminating against the color of ideas, freedom of thought, and variety of belief. As targeted content is buried, the content creators are metaphorically being forced to the “back of the bus.”
YouTube is only allowing its partners to collect advertising revenue if they think and create content in a way that defends corporate propaganda and the official story. Any videos that explore opposing viewpoints, question events, or investigate beyond, will be so buried so that content creators won’t have a financial incentive to publish their videos any longer. Meanwhile, YouTube’s recommended video front page becomes an echo chamber of mind control, directing users to regurgitate the topics that YouTube brass have dictated through algorithms.
The only way institutions such as Google can influence people is by telling them what to think, by controlling what they view, by coercing them. In a real democracy, with free markets that don’t discriminate against thought, people are free to think critically and make their own rational decisions. YouTube should be prosecuted for manipulating American democracy by partnering with leftist organizations like the SPLC to target content they don’t want people to see. YouTube should be prosecuted for openly conspiring against people with different viewpoints and life experiences.
Censorship by the internet gatekeepers is the greatest civil rights issue of our time.
